1.8.4, And Going Forward

Greetings to all who stumble into this page!
I'm here to talk about the current state of Greyscale - Mirror World Anomaly, and where I plan to go going forward regarding this game/series/project. This will cover some past, some present, and the future so strap in.

The humble start:
This game was originally a passion project spurred through a lot of years of wanting to write/create a story or game. And wanted to talk about a lot of subjects that matter personally to me. to keep it short and vague while I didn't have the worst childhood I did have a somewhat troubled one at points like most people do; dealing with an immediate world that didn't exactly accept people with Autism Spectrum Disorder and generalized anxiety planted a lot of seeds in my head for this game. One where it's about growth and moving on from troubled memories instead of succumbing to the despair that they can bring someone.
Its akin to the Shadows in Persona 4, an exaggerated truth that you don't exactly want to acknowledge but hurts you in the present. Whereas the Nightmares in Greyscale represent someone at their logical (albeit grossly exaggerated) worst state of being.
This game was also something to help force my hand at improving at art, being something Ive been passionate about since I was really little but discouraged in a way due to the lack of immediate progress.

Around Release:
The game originally dropped in March of 2022 to little fanfare but reception that I found really interesting. For the few people that did play it they really loved the unfiltered and deliberate nature of the project. However received a lot of pushback/criticism regarding a lot of glitches and unintended behavior of the game.
This never bothered me too too much however, because I did chock a lot of it up to it being my first game and as long as people were reporting bugs and glitches it wouldn't be the worst thing either. It was a good learning experience, but did make me feel wry in a way that something I did feel so strongly about wasn't as good as it could've been.

The Immediate Future:
Following Greyscale - MWA, I have since made two major titles that I like and mention to people. The Tomb of Azathoth, and Endless Namless.
Azathoth was a game that I whipped up in about a month on my own time to experiment mainly with gameplay ideas, such as sacrificing party members to make one member considerably stronger, experimenting with SMT's Press Turn system, and messing with RPGVXace to name a few things. This game was then later featured in Indiepocalypse Issue 53.
Endless Nameless was a Gamejam game that, while also not garnering a ton of attention is a game im proud of for making very quickly and getting in 4th place on the RPG Mania 7 Gamejam (with a second place position in character writing especially)
If you're interested in any of my other works consider checking them out sometime.

There's also Artificial Immortality but I don't like that project so I just relegate it as a minor project.

The Ongoing Future:
I haven't released a major game since Endless Nameless back in October 2023, due to not feeling super motivated from my job to work on projects like that at the moment. However I do have some ideas lined up in the future.
I have been (very) slowly working on an enhanced version of Greyscale - Mirror World Anomaly thats built using better plugins and greater game development knowledge. Using ideas from a canceled Eve spinoff prequel, and a possible sequel I have played around with.
At least for the immediate future I thought I could update the games OST to better reflect a more professional and individual project as opposed to the copyrighted stuff I was using before. And i will still keep updating the game with bug and typo fixes whenever needed.

Thank you for your time, and have as good rest of your day
